good news on the car. So far this is the only documented 1982 SSP package non CHP car in existence that we know of correct? It would sure be nice to find the second one in the run.
I believe so.

Hopefully, the other one is the same DSO/Special order and is still alive out there somewhere.

The 1982 page in our VIN Project has been updated to include this SSP -

http://www.specialservicemustang.net/VINlist/82VIN.html

The wording at the top has been changed, and the car has been added to the bottom.

Thanks for doing that, Bill.

No-go on the Eminger...got a refund from Marti Auto as they couldn't locate it. Still have something else in the works on it, though.

Still haven't heard back from Marti....or anyone else. I did try and track down a fleet guy in the Houston area (long since retired), but I'm still trying to run that to ground, also. So basically, no new info.

However, I did stumble across this old scan from one of the police vehicle books I apparently have. I will start research on the plate tomorrow AM. Oddly enough, I posted this here in 2008 and didn't remember it.

It sure would be great if the plate matched up with a specific VIN. Even after all this time, the way you find build sheets I wouldn't be surprised if you hit paydirt on the plate.
