Eric, you should have seen it - it was the switch panel from hell!! The console ash tray lid was also converted to switches. If you turned them all on at once the alternator would have self distructed.

All of it very creative but easy to remove and Jim will replace the dash and console and this will be only a distant memory.

Having said all that - the car is really straight and all the panels have the tags on them. All the engine harnesses/vaccume lines etc are there. It was a good save and will be a beautiful car when completed. You have to have the ability to look beyond the present condition and see the potential to do this hobby.

Yes, this is the one i found.

The car still had strobes in the corners with all the wiring and switch panels. I found a wig-wag box in the front and rear plus about 15 pounds of wire under the dash to power everything. THANK GOD !! the mice ate the strobe wiring and not the original ford harnesses.

the mouse nest was under the rear passenger seat and about the size of a basketball.......and you can imagine the smell !!

Gregg....you were right about the ignition. When I removed the sun tach to preserve for you since it is from back when you were only 50 years old (1977).....I found the ignition module thingy you were talking about was in pieces. Hopefully I can replace it and then put in some fresh fuel and fire her up ?????

Just for that I hope the mice ate your build sheet!

The ignition switch is still available from Ford somewhere around $22. Let us know how it goes with fireing it up. Keep an eye on that fan to waterpump coupler.

Oh yes i remember finding the strobes and saw some wirings attached to it but couldn't trace it to where it goes, possibly because of mice ate it up as you mentioned, now it makes sense. 15 lbs worth of wiring? thats A LOT! Did you test the switch panels? Also are you going to keep the strobes in it?

i threw all the strobes, wiring,, etc. in the garbage. I kept the big switch box as I might need a switch or two in the future for something else. FHP did not run strobes in the corners of their mustangs so it will not be restored with them.
