Thanks for the information about the Georgia SSPs. As I understand it you're the guru on Georgia SSPs. Also, that's an impressive collection of GSP vehicles you own. I've got a couple of questions for you... Does this mean that Atlanta ordered 42 or 58 SSPs for 1989? And, what's the difference between confirmed or not? I have buck tags with a matching VIN to my car, is there more info required to confirm it as an SSP, or is the confirmation require info on the agency that used it? Also, how was it determined that Atlanta ordered the 16 Hall County Cars? Just trying to get my head around all this info and if I should pursue any other leads. Thanks.

Thank you for providing your VIN and DSO number. Your car has the same DSO number as some other SSPs that are identified as being from Hall County (which is located NE of Atlanta). Here are their pages in our VIN Project -

I am no expert on the Hall County cars, so I hope someone else will chine in. The above cars are all listed as unconfirmed agency usage because no documentation has been published to confirm that they were used by that agency. I have a feeling that your car was not used by the GSP. We have a resident GSP expert, kapracing, who has a complete list of VINs used by the GSP. I will let him weigh in...

Please post up some photos when you can. We LOVE seeing pics of SSP Mustangs.
Bill - Thanks for the info and attachments.

Norm,
In the project confirmed is usually agency used... but maybe Bill will chime in on all that... GSP ordered only 42 mustangs in 89. I'll be posting up all the vins in the future per my agreement with the person retired from GSP that provided me with the documentation... As of now it is not known exactly how many Hall Co. ordered... I hope this helps explain some...

Ps a SSP could have GEORGIA on buck tag but still not be a GSP... I know it's confusing I wish they would have just put the ordering agency on each and every one of them... That would have been a big help..,

Ok, thanks. I agree, there doesn't appear to be any standard method to the buck tags or way to determine the specific agency use. I'll wait to see what you have on VINs, or if mine is even on record in that list. Have you ever come across a "build sheet" stashed away in any of your vehicles? Are the SSP options a possible clue, or is that another dead end? Again, thanks for the info.

All 17 of these cars are GSP plus there is a batch Mick did not list of 27 car prior to these with all but the first two being GSP cars for the total of 42. Those 42 vins are the only ones ordered and used by the GSP for 1989. I'll try to see if anyone knows anyone that may be familair with the Hall county cars as that what I'm fairly certain your is...

Norm,

Your bucktags confirm the car as an SSP. We have a ton of cars on the list with unconfirmed agency usage, many are also confirmed SSP cars. Sometimes, it's easier to show what it is and not what agency it came from.

I'm confused by "STATE" being on these 21-0236 units. Why would that be if they were originally used by Hall County? A grant perhaps? Or perhaps Hall Co got them second-hand after the 1st agency used them?
