Within a batch of 21 VINs (172868 through 172888), I asked for images of the door tag and buck tags.

The door tag I can't read and the buck tag is as follows:

1880 66B LX ET 172871
AC HB
DL SK
FD JF 0203 550010
9L
2 172871

The other tag shows:

MISSOURI HWY Patrol

D. S. O. 55-0010

Thanks,

I should have known that just by seeing the number 57.

That'll show me to pick up a book that has an error and throw together a decode while I'm trying to rush out the door.

It's all good, Mick. If it helps, the only reason I caught it was because I have a DSO 57 (Houston, TXDPS) car.

I just looked in every DSO list (1979-1993) in this book and 55 and 57 are wrong in every one of them. Never noticed it before.
