Default Need correct lights

My MN SSP is being considered for a Muscle Car Review feature article and I would like to have the car as accurate as possible for the photo shoot. I measured the distance between the original screw holes in the windshield trim panel for the mounting brackets and rear package tray, and the original lights appear to have been very close to 9" in length (a little less). After looking at a photo taken by a previous owner (before Mike P.), I see there are only one set of screw holes from mounting brackets (less than 9" apart). I don't believe my MN SSP ever had triple stick lights (front and rear) while in service. I need to find a new metal headliner front panel (too many screw holes) in regatta blue and a pair of dual halogen 8" x 2" lights (both lenses red). I also looked on the rear package tray and found the original mounting holes for mounting a dual light stick (less than 9" apart). Jim Y. I think you had asked me (about a month ago) if I was interested in some you had (I am now). If anyone is interested in the next to new Sho-Me triple stick LED lights that I will be removing, PLMK. Thanks!

While we all know variations were common, my understanding is MN installed triple red lights (supposedly the same light both front and rear) from a now defunct company (out of Michigan if memory serves me correct). I'm not aware of any closeup pics on what they look like, but that would be the key to trying pinning down the eact look/dimensions/etc.

Sound-Off is the group that bought out the old Approved Technologies from Hudsonville, MI. Sound-Off also looks like they discontinued those halogen lights since we talked about them and I'd suggest getting a hold of Sound-Off directly to see if they still have some lights out there available as the discussion was only about 3 months ago.

Mike, the photo that Jody K. took of the headliner header panel (from your Fotki album) showing where the lights were attached, clearly shows bracket holes approximately 8"-9" apart, so I don't think the triple lights were used on this particular car (no holes present at the time of the photo at the 15" length mark). I know from your documentation that the MSP told you they remember using triple sticks on the SSPs, but the evidence does not support that for this SSP (I suppose it's possible that they could have switched out the metal trim panel when they switched from the triple stick lights to the shorter twin light and that would explain the lack of holes in the photo for a 15" long light). Also the gray SSP photo (from Maroon Cruisers site) where I found out where to mount the radar antenna above the windshield on the passenger side shows a twin halogen light about 8-9 inches in length (Jay S. thought that photo was taken in 1991). I'm not trying disparage your thorough documentation on the MN SSPs, but just trying to get my SSP to be as close to authentic as possible. Your hard work and vital contacts have been of great help in restoring this SSP to in-service specs.

Thanks for the info, I will contact them today.

I have an original red 5.0 light. Is that the light you are talking about? Or are you talking about the other Jim Y. ? (retired from OSP)

You are the correct Jim. Is that light about "8 x 2" and a self contained dual halogen (2 side by side, (2" x 4") with red lenses on each) in the same case with 2 brackets? Made by Applied Technologies out of Hudsonville, MI (now part of "Sound Off"). If so, PM what you need for it. Thanks,
Bob

Sound Off told me they have no more in inventory and they gave me the phone number of one of their distributors "StrobesN'More" and they had none. I found some online at "Siren Light .com", but they don't show any "red/red" option and they are not taking any orders from their web site (not online yet) and the 28 series says "coming soon" (but they are showing a discounted price of $66 each). I called their phone number and nobody answered. So I'm still looking.
