Default 1986 DPS Mustang M6-307 found

I've known about this car for a bit, finally got the owner to sell it to me this weekend. Ex-DPS car number M6-307. I haven't run the carfax on it yet to get any of those details.

The car has one bucktag (denoting the DPS color combo, and SSP pkg) the other was missing. Both spotlight mounts still there, 140 MPH speedo, relocated trunk release, hole in passenger side 1/4 for antenna, door tag is still legible.

The car originally had a regatta blue interior, so I'll have to track down all of that stuff in good shape. If anyone has a line on those parts let me know. It's a roller, so with any luck I'll find a fairly complete totaled '86 5.0 car that I can just start swapping stuff over from at some point. It needs a lot of work (probably just as much as the last one that Budd owns now) but at the price I couldn't pass it up, and these '86 DPS cars are about impossible to find. Just thought I'd share!

Congrats on your find and purchase. Seems '86 TX DPS Mustangs might be like '87 and '91 CHP Mustangs in that they certainly don't appear to be numerous anymore. Looks like an excellent project, keep us posted!

I like that SE Capri in the second shot.

Thanks guys, I have been looking for an other '86 Ex-DPS car for a while, they just never come up. I'd still really really like to find a driver quality one, and if one comes up I'll jump on it, but I just don't see that being very likely so I picked this project up.

I might have a lead on a yard with a blue '85/6 coupe interior, going to look in the morning. I'd really kill to find a low mile 4 cyl coupe with a minty blue interior that I could swap everything over from, all of the A/C and heater stuff has been removed from the car so I need to swap everything back over. And same for the engine bay, gutted as well so a wrecked '86 5.0 car would come in handy for the motor swap. I'll keep everyone updated with what I find.

Looks like you could use Jim's steel SSP wheels too! Cool car!
