Body - Repainted White then Rangoon Red. Repaint has blistered off in two spots, right windshield post & over drivers door where light bar set.
Drive train-Sweet – Belts, Hoses, Fluids were recently replaced.
Has rattle inside of left exh pipe (Loose C.Converter bead)
Seats & panels in good shape, Driver's seat back adjustment frozen. Headliner ragged needs to be replaced, Radio needs speakers, A/C works
Emergency Equipment holes drilled in dash & console, Equipment removed.

Alrighty.. Checked out the car today. First off he pretty much mentioned that he had no idea how many of the FD cars were built but that Mike had one.. Still intact buck tag says Lake Worth Police. Car was originally a scarlet red with gray interior- built on 3-2-88 and one of 506 according to Stew Jones. Weird enough I just sold an absolute twin to the car (but a 5 speed). Current owner Leo bought the car from a friend who was unaware of the SSP status and did not pay an SSP price for it.

The car was repainted white for the auction and then "Rangoon red" by the P.O. The paint job is not bad for a "garage job". The biggest issue is the overspray on EVERYTHING (in both white and red). The trunk lid pinch weld was bondo'd over solid (read replace it) as well as the usual rust prone area above the taillights, the body man left the cardboard he used to keep the bondo from smushing up into the trunk area there- so expect more rust from the moisture it retains..... Battery tray area is on the way out with the frame rail underneath it as well. Both of these are pretty major repairs in my book so the car better be pretty special. Trans is leaking, quarter windows are crumbling. It is also obviously missing the hoses and correct alternator.

The rest of the car seems pretty good and the pics are pretty representative of what you will get. They did leave all of the wiring in the car, just snipped it off to pull the equipment. It appears to have had a rear deck lid antenna and that is all. He does have a lot of paperwork from the Lake Worth maintenance garage- probably 30 to 40 pages of records that he obtained copies of. Pretty good documentation overall and quite impressive on that front.

He will not sell this auction with the reserve he has up there unless someone gets 5 digit stupid, but intends to sell on the next one after he has tested the waters. Overall as an SSP I would not say more than $3000 for the car, it needs a lot for the restoration and a lot of elbow grease to get it there. I am still going to watch the auction and feel it out from there. Purchasing another SSP would mean the sale of my FHP car. I dont think a red auto is worth the trade for a black 5 speed in my book but we shall see where the price ends up..
