Everything works as should now! It was a bit simpler than I thought. On both sides, there is a harness with red, black, and green wires. There are the same colors coming out of the headlight plug. So I just ran them straight to the plug.
As it turns out, the "over seas" bulbs were my problem! I dug out the original headlights, substituted the Sylvania "made in USA" bulbs, and all is good!
If anything, it was a good excuse to clean up the wires.

Cut out this

Then ran things like this

Glad the suggestions worked! It really becomes a rats nest when there is a splice job done for those wig-wags. You did a nice job of cleaning that up. Looks like the in-house shop used trailer wire for the wig-wag extension.

Thanks again!

+1. Glad you got it cleaned up, too. Did you solder/heat-shrink the connections?

I crimped, soldered, applied liquid electrical tape, then heat shrink. Yeah, I had nothing else to do this afternoon.

that is one area I struggle with. it came from Ford looking like crap so I tend to leave it that way. I do try to clean the wiring to make it look as good as possible but there isn't much else you can do.
