1993 7k car for sale.....again
This one has been around the block and is for sale again. The car was one of 7 or 8 cars piggybacked onto the state order that year by the dealer (Jackie Jones Ford). There were 6 silver cars and 2 white cars if memory serves me right.
Previously owned by Daniel Carpenter, Mike Morrison, David Philipkoski, another guy in Alabama and now Madison Automotive. I have seen the car in person and it is super nice. It is an investment quality car that will end up on Barrett Jackson's auction show someday. While never owned by the state of South Carolina or deployed as an in-service police car it is still an SS package car nonetheless. Hopefully a true collector will pick this one up and give it a good home. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...spagenameZWDVW |
Whats it worth?
Anyone want to guess what this will sell for? Will it even make reserve?
I can get a 30K pickup new for 20K here. It bet this SSP makes 20K and doesnt even hit reserve. Charlie |

There are several cars like this out there but this seems to be the only one getting passed around. Maybe I should start an SSP rescue non-profit org and rescue this one?? |
It should be rescued
Its too bad but who ever buys cant drive it or it will lose value. I suspect it will sell for more than anyone could recover unless it is placed on permanent display. Still it could be an IRA if anyone could resist driving it. I KNOW I couldnt do that. Charlie

Seems to be alot of that going on lately. It's a nice car, but never saw service. |
I can't believe how quickly the bidding got to $23000.00!
|
IMO, it's because it is a 5-speed, regardless of whether it will be driven or not.

the low mileage ssp cars are always desireable however it is super rare to find one that was actually in service as a patrol car. There are some unmarked government, postal cars etc out there but not many cars with low miles that were used by a police agency. My 93 SCHP car only has 43k but it was wrecked in service. It will be like new when I get it finished though.....with a clear title and clean car fax. :)
SSP Gary has an excellent low mile Santa Clara car also. super nice car and the price was very good on that car. |

seller is describing this car as "one of the seven wonders of the SSP world"... the reserve is near 30k and I am betting the bidding ends at ....oh lets say.....29,499.99 :headscratch: |
In Service
I personally like an SSP that has the in-service "pedigree" with the proper equipment, lights, etc.
The car is beautiful though. If it does sell for around that $30K mark, I cannot hurt our values ;) |

naturally a car with 8k miles will 100 percent of the time be worth more than one with 150k, however being worth more money doesn't automatically make it more desirable, or collectible. It is all based on personal opinion. The vin number on my 43k mile (wrecked) 1993 SCHP car is way off the vin of the Jackie Jones car for sale. I am wondering what the DSO number is on the car. I emailed the seller and asked but he declined to send it to me. |

2. Imevils 1983 Colorado State Police car 3. Bruce Howards 1992 Michigan State Police car 4. all 406 1982 California Highway Patrol cars (one of mine has 400k miles on it.) 5. a 1984 North Carolina Highway patrol car I found in a barn..... (seriously) 6. any other ssp that survived police service and has been saved/restored ! just joking of course. :p remember guys the seller is a car dealer. He bought the car last year, paid to much (IMO), the novelty has worn off or the economy is forcing a sale, so here it is again for sale. This specific car has had five owners in two years?? I think that speaks volumes about its "desirability". He is trying to influence buyers with yippity yap about SCHP and the "7 wonders". For sure this car has a niche in the hobby but given the price the "serious buyer pool" will be limited. |

My wife wonders about me all the time! :dancinguy: |
didn't meet reserve.
He needs to take it to Barrett Jackson. 40k and the wheels on the bus go round and round. |
