The 2-digit DSO is B6, so it is definitely a Canadian car.

FoxChassis 03-24-2013 05:24 PM

The door/tag is from another car, an '86 4-cyl hatchback. Would need to see the VIN and or the buck tag to make a determination.

MOstang 03-24-2013 07:45 PM

I like the RCMP SSPs...this one looks like it has spent some winters sitting outside where it was photographed.

smunczen 03-24-2013 08:30 PM

You can see the center caps in the car. I would afraid of the rust I cannot see on this car. Too far north for me to be interested.

smokin5.0 03-25-2013 04:03 AM

car is pretty rusty....and I am sure that it has already been confirmed to be an ex rcmp car. Car has been for sale for a while and is more realistically priced was $4-5k about a year or so ago.

MOstang 03-25-2013 08:19 AM

Brent - Reading your post above sort of wakes up my memory a bit. Wasn't this one written about on this forum (at the higher price) a few years ago? If someone is interested they may find some other posts on it using the forum search.

Is that the one?

ChrisL 03-25-2013 09:21 AM

Same one, I had saved the pictures from the old ad and they are the same as some used in the current ad.

smokin5.0 03-25-2013 05:22 PM

Yes....same car.....been for sale for years...been over priced...needs A LOT of work. Been talked about extensively.

FoxChassis 03-25-2013 06:43 PM

So I wonder if these are the eight RCMPs ordered that year....

1FABP26M5GF203750
1FABP26M7GF203751

1FABP26M3GF208249
1FABP26MXGF208250
1FABP26M1GF208251
1FABP26M3GF208252
1FABP26M5GF208253
1FABP26M7GF208254

Chris: did you happen to save the VIN from the first ad?

ChrisL 03-25-2013 09:33 PM

I just looked and I sure didn't Mick.

NoDrama43 03-26-2013 12:15 PM

I spent almost a year in conversation with Jason about this car. I was going to buy it but logistically it was just way to far away. The car has some rust issues, but nothing that canniot be repaired. RCMP cars are few and far between. Jason (seller) was unable to provide buc tags but said he has them somewhere.

Jason is a good guy and up front about the car.

ChrisL 03-26-2013 03:27 PM

I'd sure love to see someone save this one. Too much on my plate right now, and the shipping to Texas would be absolutely killer.

NoDrama43 03-26-2013 08:16 PM

i would have had a minimum of 1500.00 counting fuel and other expenses to go get it. I was buying the car itself for a very reasonable (to me) price but coupled with the expenses to get it here it was just to big a bite for me.

that and I already have an 86 in the paint booth.

Is that square box on the driver fender by the shock tower a high performance ad on, or the wigwag flasher for the headlights, still attached ?

Any ideas ? Wiring is still going into the harness. Appears to be an after market item.

28HopUp 04-05-2013 08:13 AM

I can't see it well, but I'm guessing that it could be the DuraSpark box.

ChrisL 04-05-2013 09:52 AM

An '86 wouldn't have a dura-spark box, so it must be something else. Just noticed there is something attached to the turn signal stalk, I wonder if it is an aftermarket cruise setup? Could be wig-wags or something as mentioned also.

SSPGARY 04-05-2013 12:17 PM

I would love this car since I'm currently am SSPless but I can't see it being worth the effort??

I'm intrigueded with this RCMP SSP but it's 3,273Km or 2,033 miles from me... I checked with a shipping company and got a quote of $1,596 to ship to my door as I'm 20 minutes west of Toronto, Ontario... now the one draw back is the shipping company will only ship safe, running, road worthy cars... no salvage or parts cars so I wonder what they would think of this one.

NoDrama43 04-06-2013 07:19 AM

it isn't a running roadworthy car so apparently they would not ship it.

This car is now sold and will be in good hands. It will be getting a full resto in the future. Car will be preserved and get the treatment that it should.
