WSP

Wow looks very original and rust free should sell fast at that price. If I didn't spend my ssp stash few weeks ago would be all over this even with shipping still cheap.Goodluck with sale.

If this one isn't posted in our VIN Project yet, can you post up some pictures of the VIN label on the driver's door and the buck tags on the radiator support? :)

GLWS, too!

NoDrama43 05-12-2013 09:52 AM

ok that's it......I am making the barn bigger.

man that is a clean looking car right there..........wow.

Post up some more pics for us. How nice is the interior?

It should sell real fast that is a great price.

I need to win the lottery.

a few more pics

its not perfect but a decent driver, could use exaust, windsheild , trunk lid is a little rusty underneath , mostly small stuff . not bad for a 83

interior is pretty good. one seat tear from gun or handcuffs rubbing maybe, sounds good.

smunczen 05-13-2013 09:08 AM

Wow the owner took pretty good care of the car.

28HopUp 05-13-2013 09:22 AM

Not only that, but the seller took the time to clean the car before taking pictures. How many times have we seen for sale ads with the cars in filthy condition inside & out?

Here's an 83 WSP from our photo gallery (with the older style graphics) -

Once restored, you certainly wouldn't run into another one like it at a national show. Somebody needs to scoop this one up and do it proper justice...

great in service picture of that wsp

I can see on mine where the light bar and spot light used to be , not sure if thats good or bad.

I wouldn't do a thing to that interior, wouldn't even have the seat fixed. Of course the radio would go, but the seat rip is what it might have had inservice from the officers gun. Left handed officers drove two of my crown vics, leaving big chunks in the seat material.

What ever you can see that was from police service, it's a good thing! :)

Look over in the upper left corner. WSP had Firebirds/Trans-Ams??

They sure did! 3 I believe. Alaska had originally purchased the cars and when they found the cars did not work to well in the winter, WSP bought them (along with a Pontiac Lemans) and shipped them down south where they served here up until the early 80s. We know of only 1 left out there in private hands - still has the white paint job.

I was curious about the status of this SSP, so I sent a note to the seller. Ray said that he sold the car to a guy from Las Vegas, who flew in and drove the car home. After he got back, the buyer told Ray that it is his favorite Mustang. Hope we see it again... :)

Rhino 01-08-2014 12:17 AM

Ray was a nice fella. I spoke with him, too. Clean car. Hope the buyer surfaces and says hi. :)

Hi.
Ray was a super cool, honest guy. I still have the car. Still my favorite.

Sure thing, keep us updated on the progress! ;)

28HopUp 06-02-2014 04:15 PM

The new owner (SHZ on both sites) posted up a picture on FEP of the firewall markings by the WSP, which we added to the VIN Project page for this car:

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info165404.htm

Now that this one is confirmed as a WSP Mustang, we can confirm the other two 1983 SSPs in this batch as WSP cars because they have the same DSO as this car (they were previously listed as 'unconfirmed agency use'). ;)

I posted this in over in foureyedpride. Still my daily driver, still runs strong, still my favorite. Thanks Ray.
Not much different on the outside but the steelies and caps. A few fixes have been done including a new carb, starter, found some valve covers from an 85 to replace the 87-93 ones that were on there, ford racing headers, and flowmaster exhaust. I had get some of the floorpan welded and fixed some broken seat bolts, took the opportunity to put in new carpet.
By the end of the year I'd like to go through the suspension. I have a trunk lid to replace the rusted one. Kind of leaning towards getting a stock hood back on it.
Next year I need to get the AC fixed.
Thats all I have for an update
