on my 87 FHP they were still screwed to the core support also. Not sure when they started the stapling process. My 88 MOHP bucktags were also screwed on the same way.

Mine is 170979, still finding bits and pieces of info. I also have contacted the buyer and the seller of this car in hopes of getting a full page copy of the DSO 24-0069 Special Equipment List that was pictured in the listing. FINGERS CROSSED......
