Well, I finally got around to ordering the speedometer cable from Haven Ford in Kansas. $55 + $12 shipping. $67 and this is what I got. Any ideas? NOS = brittle plastic!!!

Opinion is the best I can do. That looks like a fracture not the way it's supposed to look from my experience with that type of plastic and knowing the way Ford molds parts, I'm just not familiar with this cable nor have I seen one in person before so I can only go on what I've seen from other cars.
A form of thick CA super glue can fix that up by pulling it apart slightly and applying some of the glue sparingly over and between the crack area and it should fix it right up. |
