Wife's Mustang is 6" shorter!
On Wednesday night, Debbie was sitting at a traffic light in our 2005 Mustang and a 17yo kid driving 2004 Jeep Wrangler (w/ 3" lift and off-road bumper) rear-ended her. At first she seemed fine, while waiting for the cops. I got to the scene, and about 10 minutes later her neck and back started hurting, and her head started aching and she thought she was gonna vomit. So I called 911 again and requested an ambulance. They did X-rays at the ER (in & out in less than 2 hours!) which were OK, but her whiplash is limited to her neck and upper back.
Both of the kid's parents showed up before Debbie was hauled off. The kid told his Mom at the scene that he only looked down at his phone for a second! :No no: This was the result - http://www.mustangcollective.com/ima...2f3f4b2f19.jpg I'll be taking it in for an estimate this afternoon. I had been planning to drive that car yesterday to Thompson Dragway (near Cleveland) to meet up at a private track rental with about 35 other S197 Mustang owners that I know from another forum. I figured I'd better stick around here instead. Debbie took yesterday off, but she's back in the classroom today - she's sore. She sees our family doctor on Monday (they want her to wait and settle down while taking the Rx's the ER prescribed). Debbie is expecting to be going to physical therapy for some time. Glad it wasn't any worse. |
I hope she has a quick recovery. Do not skimp on the medical eval/treatment. Neck and back are serious business.
I hope you "Helped" the kid to "Place" that phone in a "Special" receptical. ;) |
WOW Not good! I can see ALLOT More damage to the car if it were a classic 60's/70's Mustang
or a smaller car! ....I am paranoid about cars coming up behind me especially if the driver has the head tilted or is looking at their hand as they come to a stop! Hope Debbie gets on the mend soon and has no lasting injury from this. |
+1 on well wishes for her. Glad to hear it wasn't worse.

Thanks guys!

Metal work is done. Will be going to paint soon. http://www.mustangcollective.com/ima...da81898808.jpg Debbie is still hurting though. The muscles in her neck and back are still very tight. |
Too bad we can't get fixed up as fast as our cars can. I hope your feels better soon. Car looks good btw.

Cell phone use in a car should come with a heavy fine. Hope she feels better soon.
