Default NICB SSP Mustang

Hello, brand new guy here. This past summer I purchased a 1993 SSP Mustang. It had originally been painted black & white for CHP duty. But was never comissioned as such. It had gray paint under hood and trunk. It is currently green. No holes anywhere for mounting radios, lights, antennas, etc. I been doing some research and have just found out that it was a former National Insurance Crime Bureau undercover car. Does anyone know about these cars? I've contacted the NICB via e-mail. We'll see when/if they respond.

Interesting...and welcome to the site. NICB is a private, non-profit group but I have heard that they "assist" with investigations. How did you find out that this car was used by them?

I called the CHP Motor Transport and asked about the NICB on my carfax report. The further I go into this research, it seems that there are a lot of carfax reports that start with the NICB as the first report. I don't think that this car had anything to do with the NICB besides them doing their job.

I contacted California's DMV this evening and have paper work to send them to get an ownership history report on the car.

As stated before, I'm new to this. The buck tags indicate that this car was for the CHP. And I see evidence of the black & white paint scheme under the now green paint. I also have gray paint under that green in some places and under the hood and trunk lid. I am only the third owner. The guy I bought it from received the car as green.

What confuses me is that there are no holes to be found anywhere where radios, antennas or anything else would have been mounted. I understand they fill in the exterior holes before resale, but the holes in the dash and rear deck too?

And I'm told that it has the "holster rip" in the drivers seat.

Research is definitely fun, and we are all still learning here, too, so no worries.

Post up some pics of the car when you can, including the DSO from the door data sticker and the buck tags, and we'll see if we can help you out.

Interior could have been swapped out, but it may be hard to tell...

Welcome to the sight. Post some pictures of your car and check on the inner quarter panels for patched antenna holes.

Here are some pics. But looks like I have to retake a couple; the door sticker for one.

Looked for a patch in the quarter panels, none to be found.
