Using this calculator:
http://www.crompton.com/wa3dsp/hamradio/antcalc.html set for 42.5 Mhz yields approx. 66" length for the whip. I bought an ASP 96" whip and cut it down at the opposite end from the tip. If you use a hacksaw, be sure the blade is for stainless steel.
