Quick update, I found a bad wire that runs from the solenoid to the starter. It looks like it had rubbed the harmonic balancer in the past and was "repaired" with a few wraps of electrical tape. Under the tape it was corroded pretty good so I cut it out and spliced a new chunk of 12 gauge wire in with a couple layers of heat shrink. Fired right up after that so hopefully it's good to go now.

Just saw this thread. I was going to suggest checking that very cable. Had the same problem on my FHP. Was cranking perfect and then out of nowhere, nothing.
Sounds like a great project with an awesome back story. You're the first owner from auction and still have it. Most of us wish we could say that about ours! We need pics of your NSP!! ![]()
