I think its an 82 (ish) by the engine bay pics. I just hope he is calling it a CHP car when its not. Out here any coupe is called ex-chp. Who knows.... I should go look @ it.

Just checked my parts car collection & by the looks of the "onion head" struts & the strut plates it's an 82. According to my collection in 83 they used different struts & a much different strut plate. Doug

The rear bumper cover looks like an earlier one. Even if it wasn't a CHP, it was probably still a factory 302 car. Since the "outdated" one was replaced.

Some of the things done to the car, I could tolerate... the motor etc. But the front end and the interior no I couldn't. It is not that hard to find a '87 and later one.

You are correct...my '83s are the same.

Had a chance to check on those wheels for me?
