Length of service
Can anyone tell me how long the CHP kept their SSP's in service? According to Carfax, my 88 was retired in 98 w/95,000 miles on it and my 86 was retired in 96 w/96,000 miles on it. If I remember right someone said CHP retired by mileage not years. Doug

Hello Doug,FYI,CHP 8336 was put in service on 8/15/1985 and retired on 7/10/1987 and sold to me on 9/1/1987 with 70,739 miles on it.

The front bumper cover of my SSP had been replaced prior to the silver metallic repaint, and the rear passenger 1/4 panel had mud an 1" thick in spots (glad that's gone!).

My '82 was the same as what the guys above posted...only a couple of years. Something about them having them for that long doesn't seem right.
