If there is (serious only!) interest in this, I could make a trip to check it out. It's about 2 hours from me.

If only it was in Wilmington DELAWARE and not NC. I know of a nice running 85 donor car too. I'm exceeding my available storage space already tho

Does anyone have any pictures of these cars besides this one that is in the photo gallery?

Were they all this color? All red interior? What kind of equipment did they run? Man I really think this is a cool car...

I have alot of NCSHP photos but that's only 1985 one that I have viewed. As far as an equipment setup goes a 1989 NCSHP SSP is the earliest I have viewed interior pics of an NCSHP SSP. It would be a pretty good example of how the equipment might have been setup, however, the antenna setup is diff't on the 1985 so a good chance other equipment was diff' too.

Just got more info from the owner, with no suspension I am definitely out of the game. I sure hate for this one to be lost to the world of scrap metal or mustang race cars though... hopefully someone with a bleeding heart will save it.

"Hi Chris. The mustang has no front or rear suspension at all. The interior is all there but it has 90 model seats that are black.rest is blue.Dash of course is cracked..Got rid of the hood years ago as it wouldn't clear air cleaner.I have the paperwork where it was bought from nc state,It has 140 speedo, one key fits all, ground straps on trunk and had trunk release moved to dash near drivers left knee.If I could back up ten years I would have left it original.thanks for your interest."

1985 mustang 5.0 coupe BODY ONLY.Clean title. No rust but needs paint.Just the shell with no hood.I have the title and all the documents from when it was taken out of service. Please if you are in the area just come see it and don't email me for pics.Mike @910 352 8538
Although I am in NO position to do this myself, I still maintain that a nice running 85 could be used as a donor car to bring this rare SSP back to life. The seller says he has some NCHP documentation, and if it has the Buck Tags and original door VIN sticker this would be worth the effort IMO.
