As cool as any documented SMPV is (which is WAY cool), the last ones were the least interesting iteration as the only deviation from a normal PV was the white paint and in some cases deletion of the deck lid lettering. I remember reading that the 1st year SMPVs did not have rear decklid lettering on them, but I just noticed in Sam's pictures that this one while at MT was still marked on the door...

It's too bad the CHP had already removed the equipment when the above photos were taken. It would have been nice to see the arrangement used for the rear lights, even if they were just like the B&W units.

Hopefully this is not too big of an assumption here on my part, but notice the plug on the decklid for the antenna normally found on the roof? Pretty cool!
